Neeraj Chopra Makes History as World Number One in Men's Javelin Throw




In a historic achievement, Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic gold medalist in javelin throw, has ascended to the position of world number one for the first time ever. With an impressive total of 1455 points, Chopra surpassed the reigning world champion from Grenada, Anderson Peters, who held the second position with 1433 points.

Chopra recently showcased his exceptional skills at the Doha Diamond League, where he emerged victorious in the season opener with a remarkable throw of 88.67 meters, solidifying his dominance in the sport. His outstanding performance further established his status as the reigning Diamond League champion, having claimed victory in the prestigious event's final in 2022.

Upcoming on June 4, Chopra will grace the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in Hengelo, Netherlands, displaying his extraordinary talent on the global stage once again.
