Himachal-Ladakh Rail Route: Train will pass through 62 tunnels and 206 bridges between mountains

 



Now it will be easy to reach Leh directly by sitting in a galloping train on the tracks passing through the beautiful plains of Himachal Pradesh, because the train route will be prepared from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh to Leh, the capital of Ladakh via Manali. The survey work for this route has also been completed. The construction work of the rail-route will start soon.

The features of this train route mentioned by the Ministry of Railways are as follows: The new rail line connecting Himachal Pradesh with the Union Territory of Ladakh will be about 489 km long, which will pass through high mountains. This railway line will be constructed in broad gauge only. About 2557.96 hectares of land will be required to prepare this rail line. Tourists traveling from Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh will have to pass through 62 tunnels on the entire way. Out of the 489 km train line that will run from Bilaspur in Himachal to Leh, the capital of Ladakh, 270 km long rail line will pass only through the tunnel. There will also be 2 very important bridges on this route. Apart from this, 114 bridges will be normal and 90 will be small bridges. Starting from Himachal Pradesh, the 489 km long journey will cross 206 bridges and end in Leh. There will be 37 road over bridges and 54 road under bridges in this rail route. The rail route from Himachal to Ladakh will be completely electrified. This project of laying rail line from Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh is likely to cost Rs 99,201.40 crore.
