Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a productive bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, in Sydney, Australia. The high-level discussion, attended by India's External Affairs Minister S. Exploring avenues to elevate the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, they delved into prospects for cooperation in new sectors. Special focus was placed on the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, aimed at deepening economic ties between the two countries. Strategic cooperation in mining and critical minerals also featured prominently in their fruitful discussions.

The issue of attacks on temples in Australia was addressed, reflecting the shared commitment to preserving the harmonious relations between India and Australia. Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to PM Albanese for his actions against those involved in such incidents and received assurances of continued strong action in the future. Earlier, during a community event, PM Modi underscored the significance of "mutual trust and reciprocity" in India-Australia ties. He emphasized that respect forms the bedrock of the longstanding historical connections between the two nations. While acknowledging the past associations rooted in the 3Cs—Commonwealth, Cricket, and Curry, the bilateral relations have evolved to encompass "Democracy, Diaspora, and Friendship" and expanded further to include "energy, economy, and education." Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the relationship goes beyond these categories, emphasizing the crucial elements of mutual trust and mutual respect.
